* April 16, 2005	Spring 2005 Concert with Organ and Soloists Vivaldi: Magnificat Mozart: Missa Brevis in B Flat Holst: Short Festival Te Deum Dvorák: Te Deum Play an audio excerpt from our Dvorák performance. This concert featured magnificent songs of praise directed by Dr. Sándor Szabó. Guest artists included Susan May Schneider, soprano; Elizabeth Perryman, mezzo-soprano; Stephen Oosting, tenor; and Stefanos Koroneos, baritone; with Eric Olsen at the organ.

November 13, 2004	Fall 2004 Concert with Organ, Piano and Soloists Vivaldi, Poulenc, Rutter: Gloria! These three celebratory Glorias, the first by Antonio Vivaldi, the second by Francis Poulenc and the most recent by John Rutter, span several musical centuries. Gary Schneider conducted. The soloists were Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase, contralto; Susan Schneider, mezzo-soprano; and Janet Montgomery at organ and piano. Reviewer Paul Somers offered a compelling evaluation of OSNJ's rendition of the Vivaldi piece. Somers found that "Mr. Schneider had his forces singing with clarity which led to great security in the contrapuntal sections. Dotted rhythms snapped as the whole work was filled with energy…the Oratorio Society kept its attention focused and the pitch on the money." In regard to its presentation of Poulenc's Gloria, "the choral singing was very fine, filled with vim and vigor. The rousing 'Laudamus te' was great fun, the final cheerleader ending actually drawing a few chuckles from the audience. … The final, mystical 'Amen' took the breath away in its choral loveliness" [see "A Trinity of Glorias," Classical New Jersey].
April 10, 2004	Spring 2004 Concert with Organ and Soloists Dvorák: Requiem In 2004, OSNJ was able to join others in honoring the centenary anniversary of Antonín Dvorák's death with a special performance of his greatest choral work, the Requiem. Soloists Sewell Griffith, Soprano; Hanne Ladefoged-Dollase, Contralto; Christopher Pfund, Tenor; and Constantinos Yiannoudes, Baritone, along with Sándor Szabó, organist, enriched this presentation.

November 15, 2003	Fall 2003 Concert with Orchestra and Soloists Stravinsky: Symphony of Psalms Cherubini: Requiem in C Minor Gary M. Schneider conducted with Sándor Szabó, organist, Thomas Carlo Bo, pianist, and Jeff Pines, percussion, accompanying the chorus. Paul Somers praised OSNJ's rendition of Cherubini's "rare Requiem" and found Stravinsky's "Psalms sung with transparency": "Gary M. Schneider made an excellent case for [Cherubini's] inclusion in the Requiem canon… the 'Rex tremendae majestatis' was mightily powerful. 'Confutatis maledictis' on the other hand was filled with colorations to paint the text. The singers of the Oratorio Society must be commended for their fortepiano attacks on the 'Lacrymosa' which were executed with precision…."
August 19, 2003	Orff: Carmina Burana Sing (a community sing-along)
2002—2003 Season	Under the direction of Gary M. Schneider, OSNJ performed a 'mostly a capella' program with selections from the Renaissance Masters, including Dufay, Palestrina, Gabrieli, Vittoria, and Monteverdi, Gounod's Messe Solennelle, and the world premiere of Peter Quince at the Clavier by local composer Robert Cohen (with readings in honor of OSNJ former director Jack Sacher). Fauré's Requiem and Beethoven's Mass in C were performed in the spring concert. According to Reviewer Paul Somers, "To be sure, the music was electrifying on its own, but the performance lived up to the music in every way" — "The Society is clearly in good hands with Mr. Schneider. He had them singing with energy and precision. Full expression was achieved in quite dramatic terms..." — "The Oratorio Society sang with sureness and clarity" — "The a capella singing was first rate, filled with expressive detail."
